Claude Lanzmann. The Recordings

Claude Lanzmann. The Recordings (2025)

3D sound diffusion for tracked headphone system · idee und klang

The exhibition at the Jüdisches Museum Berlin presents the sound archive of filmmaker Claude Lanzmann, including previously unpublished recordings from his research on the Holocaust. As in Sprachenland, visitors wear headphones tracked in the room, and a binaural engine mixes the sound in real time for each of them. Working for idee und klang, I placed and moved the recordings in 3D space within a digital twin of the exhibition.

terminal infinity (2025)

videodesign · Alexander Schubert

For Alexander Schubert’s multimedia production Terminal Infinity, I designed the video using the 3D software Blender.

knäuled (2025)

audio-visual composition, multimedia synchronisation

Togheter with the light collective Göral we created a 900-meter-long vein of light that meanders seemingly aimlessly through the room. It reacts to visitors in real time and transforms the space into an interactive spectacle. The audiovisual installation was part of the Lichtfestival Luzern.

Audiobreeze (2024)

software programming · Audiobreeze

For the company Audiobreeze, I programmed a prototype of their immersive 3D audio system, which creates evolving spatial soundscapes from multichannel nature recordings. My work focused on developing and exploring the technical possibilities of the prototype.

Sprachenland (2023)

3D sound diffusion for tracked headphone system · idee und klang

The exhibition Sprachenland at the Landesmuseum Zürich featured a head-tracking system developed by iart, which calculates a real-time binaural 3D mix for each visitor. As a freelancer, I spatialized all the music within a digital twin of the museum.

HKB Visuelle Kommunikation

HKB Visuelle Kommunikation (2022)

sound design · HKB Hochschule der Künste Bern

Two series of short animated clips for the Visual Communication programme at the Hochschule der Künste Bern (HKB), made for social media. Each clip answers a question of future students, like “Warum soll ich an der HKB visuelle Kommunikation studieren?” or “Welche Infrastruktur kann ich an der HKB nutzen?”, with hand-drawn animations. I made the sound for all 18 clips.

asterism (2022)

sound diffusion · Alexander Schubert

For the immersive multimedia composition Asterism by Alexander Schubert, Candid did the sound diffusion for the musical composition.

Asterism is a simulation space for possible worlds: virtual, spiritual, dystopian and embracing. In a black hall, accessed through a preparation lock, an extract of reality is constructed – a complete natural copy of a living surrounding. This setting is interwoven with digital and AI-controlled components, which create a space on the border of realities. It investigates the question of how much reduction can be done and still maintain the real – or what are the basic components to construct a spiritual experience. This clash and switching between worlds opens an insight into possible futures of a bio-technical nature in which humans are faced with new conditions. The setting was designed as an immersive experience space to which audience and performers alike were given access for 36 hours.

Schwarm / Fluid (2021)

sound design, interactive media design · idee und klang

A generative video and sound installation in two versions for the entrance of KPMG in Zurich. In Schwarm, numbers move through the room like a swarm; their density, spread, speed and position drive the sound synthesis in real time. In Fluid, coloured liquids flow across the screen with a different sound in colour, material and space. Developed at idee und klang with Tweaklab, scenography by LOOSLI & ZEHNDER.

Jeu Continu

Jeu Continu (2021)

sounddesign · idee und klang

A special exhibition about Belle Époque music boxes at the Museum für Musikautomaten in Seewen. Quadraphonic soundscapes in two pavilions contrast the rural Jura villages where the instruments were built with the world exhibitions where they were shown. At headphone stations next to the display cases, visitors hear binaural recordings of restored music boxes from the collection. Realised at idee und klang.

Ascend (2021)

software programming · idee und klang

A walk-in sound sculpture by Norman Kelley in the lobby of an office building on LaSalle Street, Chicago: a small amphitheatre of steel, brass and marble that works as an instrument. Live data shapes the generative composition: the time of day sets tempo and texture, the day of the week the scale, the weather the timbre. 81 light sensors and 3 motion sensors follow the visitors, and the music plays from the eight nearest of 95 speakers. Sound by idee und klang with iart.

Second Layer SoundWalk

Second Layer SoundWalk (2021)

promo audio · idee und klang

Second Layer SoundWalk is a concept by idee und klang and scenographer Claudia Glass: sound scenography for headphones that adds an interactive, immersive layer to existing exhibitions. My part was the promotional audio piece that presents the idea.
